The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an exciting programme of practical and adventurous activities, designed to support the personal and social development of young people, regardless of gender, background or ability.
The DofE Award is a voluntary, non-competitive challenge that pupils undertake in their own time, and encourages young people to undertake a variety of exciting, constructive, challenging and enjoyable activities.
During the course of the DofE, pupils will complete four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skill and Expedition. We offer the Bronze level every Autumn for Year 9 pupils and are now offering Silver to Year 10 pupils who completed their Bronze award in Year 9.
We complete all our training and expeditions in house with a dedicated team of staff. From spring, pupils will attend weekly training sessions after school and complete practice walks, a practice overnight expedition, with their final qualifying expedition taking place in June.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is widely recognised by employers as well as for applications to further and higher education institutions. If your child is thinking of going to university or taking up an apprenticeship, completing the DofE is a great qualification and asset to be able to add to their CV. It gives young people the opportunity to develop their HART values, self-confidence and self-reliance in a team environment, make friends and have fun.
